“You are the only person who knows how to take care of you. But I also say, you’re not putting yourself first, you’re putting yourself at the same level of importance as you put everybody else, so it’s not selfish because you are the only one who can take care of you, you are the only one who can choose to be happy, you are the only one who can choose to be sad, you are the only one who can choose how you react or act.
Other people’s behavior may influence that, but it is ultimately up to you what you choose to do. So, you putting yourself at your center of your life actually makes sense because it makes you happier, and in turn it makes everybody else around you happier.
So, it’s not being selfish to make yourself happy, because when you’re happy, that ripples out to everybody else.”
