Navigating Traumatic Grief, PTSD, And A Child With OCD | With Jodie Baulkham

At that point, I didn’t have a lot ability to care about what other people thought, which was a blessing in disguise. I was just able to focus inward and not have that outward concern. So I found that very helpful.

And then I quickly I stopped asking, ‘Why is this happening to me? Why did my husband have to be the one who got called out that night? Why, why, why?’ And I found with that, I would just spiral further into a hole because there was nothing -those answers weren’t going to come. And so for me to stay there was just harming myself.

And so I started to accept very early, ‘Okay, this is my reality. What now? What next?’ And so just that shift from not focusing on the ‘Why’ and choosing to focus on the ‘What’ - that kept me moving forward each day.
