Tell us who you are in 50 words or less.
I’m Nancy, an Akashic Records reader, medium and Reiki practitioner. I help people connect with their departed loved ones and Spirit Guides to offer guidance and reassurance.
My business, Mystic Energy with Nancy, combines my passion for spiritual connection with my dedication to helping others find clarity and peace.
How and why did you start your business?
I started Mystic Energy with Nancy in 2022 after experiencing a powerful Reiki attunement in 2020, which led to my deepening my connection to the spiritual realm through the Akashic Records and mediumship.
My journey began as a young girl learning card reading from my grandpa, and spirituality became a lifeline when I lost my mom to cancer as a teenager.
My goal in Mystic Energy with Nancy is to use my spiritual tools to help others find peace, comfort, reassurance, and connection.
What services do you offer in your business?
I offer virtual one-on-one Soul Harmony sessions which blend Akashic Records, mediumship and Reiki to bring comfort and clarity.
I also offer spiritual classes like Akashic Records 101, as well as unique workshops like Reiki-n-Recipes, where we chat together and blend Reiki into nourishing easy recipes to sip, snack-on or soothe, like herbal foot soaks and mists.
What makes your business or services unique?
I feel my ability to blend the practical with the mystical makes my business unique. As a mom of two over 50 and an educator with over 30 years of experience, I bring a grounded approach to my spiritual sessions. I blend in unique elements, like integrating cooking or art into spiritual practices.
My goal is to create a supportive, approachable environment where clients can feel comfortable exploring their spiritual journey. This combination allows me to help others find comfort, clarity, and connection in a relatable and down-to-earth way.
Additionally, my messages are usually channeled, often conveyed in the wording, tone, and rhythm of the Spirit's speech, providing a deeper connection. My goal is to create a supportive, approachable environment where clients can feel comfortable exploring their spiritual journey.

Having a functional website is an important aspect of running a business. How was the process for you to get your website up and running? For example: Did you create it on your own or did you hire a web designer? Which platform is your website hosted on?
My website is hosted on Wix. I chose Wix for its simplicity and the ease with which I can step in and change or update things quickly.
Although I created my site on my own, thanks to knowledge from creating one for a previous business, I truly appreciate the skills and expertise of professional web designers. Their insights can make the process even smoother and more tailored to specific business needs, and can make it easier if you don’t know what you’re doing.
What resources are you finding helpful in your business right now?
I’m finding my online scheduling tool really wonderful for keeping track of appointments.
I also love connecting with others and learning through spiritual workshops and courses. They help me grow and stay inspired, which is great for both my practice and personal development.
What is the one thing you wished you had known before starting your entrepreneurial journey?
I wish I had known the importance of building a strong support network early on.

Tell us about a time when life threw you a serious curveball in your business and what you did to overcome that curveball?
Early on in my business, I faced a challenging moment when a leader in a small mentoring community said, “If you don’t have clients, it’s because you aren’t any good.” While I hope that was intended to be motivating and to prompt necessary changes, it was tough to hear.
At that time, my client base was still small as I was just starting out. Rather than letting it discourage me, I refocused on why I started my business and what I wanted to achieve. I continued to learn, adapt, and adjust my approach, which helped me stay committed to my mission.
Believing in myself and my vision of helping others connect to Spirit allowed me to overcome that hurdle and keep moving forward.
How have you grown personally from becoming an entrepreneur?
Starting my own business has taught me resilience and self-trust.
I’VE LEARNED NOT TO COMPARE MYSELF TO OTHERS OR RUSH TO KEEP UP WITH ANYONE ELSE’S PACE.
What one misconception about the entrepreneurial journey would you like to clarify for us today?
One big misconception is that everyone is out for themselves.
In reality, I’ve found so many supportive and helpful people along the way, and it’s been really wonderful.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about starting their own business?
BUILDING A BUSINESS TAKES TIME AND DEDICATION, SO BE PATIENT WITH YOURSELF AND ENJOY THE JOURNEY.

What are some fun facts you would like to share about yourself?
One of my favorite pastimes is baking chocolate chip cookies for family and friends. In fact, years ago, I invented and patented a cookie dough storage device!
I also love exploring plants for use in the kitchen and creating new recipes.
My experience as a classroom teacher and substitute teacher has been incredibly rewarding—I’ve met hundreds of students, and it’s always special to reconnect with high schoolers who remember me from their kindergarten days.
Plus, I started my spiritual business after the age of 50, proving that it's never too late to pursue your dreams.
What is one thing you’re grateful for right now?
I’m incredibly grateful for the support of my clients and the community I’ve found through Mystic Energy with Nancy. The trust and friendships have been truly wonderful.
What are you looking forward to in the next month?
I’m excited about my upcoming virtual events, especially teaching new students the basics of the Akashic Records in Akashic Records 101.
I’m also looking forward to the next Reiki-n-Recipes on Zoom in August, where we’ll be creating Reiki-infused herbal mists and simple snacks together online.
Additionally, I’m thrilled to launch an in-person gallery-style event, An Evening with Spirit, where I’ll be demonstrating Akashic Records readings with a fellow medium at various locations in Maryland.
